
Resident in Bury and Ramsbottom are being evacuated after the River Irwell burst its banks during Storm Ciara.
Bury Council have set up an evacuation centre at Castle Leisure Centre in Bolton Street, Bury.
It is not yet known how many homes in the Radcliffe, Redvales and Ramsbottom area are affected following the biggest UK storm to hit the UK in 7 years.
I spoke to Tim Laver who lives at Peel Brow on the banks on the River Irwell in Ramsbottom who praised the response from the authorities.
In central Ramsbottom Kenyon Street is flooded and the fire service is pumping out houses.
Manchester Road, near Park Farm, is also flooded with stranded cars that tried to get through the standing water.

The A56 near Ramsbottom is currently flooded and parts of Nuttall Park is under water, including the play area.
Heavy rain and strong winds from Storm Ciarra are set to slowly ease from around 9pm, but forecasters are warning of heavy snow showers causing more disruption from around 3pm tomorrow.
